Deliver Us?

We're not the first ones in need of deliverance...from ourselves.

Isaiah 30:10 They say to the seers, “See no more visions !” and to the prophets, “Give us no more visions of what is right! Tell us pleasant things, prophesy illusions.

That was the 8th Century B.C.

Matthew 23:37 “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing.

Jesus felt the full weight of the human gravitational pull to declare our own independence; to establish our own institutions. That was 2,000 years ago.

And it's us...me today.

I wonder what deliverance would really look like and if we would receive it?
